Ibom Power increases generation, plans further increases – MD

The Ibom Power Company has increased its generation capacity and now exports electricity and expertise to neighbouring states as the plant marks 100 days of uninterrupted production. Victor Udo, managing director of the company has said.

In the most recent press release of the company, the MD while giving his assessment of the plant over the one year he has been in charge said that “as at last year, the plant was producing an average of 60MW which was about 30% of installed capacity but we are currently producing over 100MW which is 60% of installed capacity and double what we had last year”.

He added that “work is currently ongoing to add another 38MW to the existing 115MW in the next two months. This will increase our production to about 150MW and enable us produce at 80% of installed capacity”.

He noted that the plant has also been run for one hundred days without any forced outage or mistake describing it as a remarkable achievement.
