The Egyptian Cabinet on 20th September supported projects proposed by Dubai-based AMEA Power LLC for the establishment of 1 GW of l and 500 MW of wind capacity in the country.
The endorsement concerns AMEA Power's arrangement to deploy 1 GW of solar panels in Aswan, as per a Bureau explanation from 20th September.
The 500-MW wind project, which got government leeway, will be situated in Ras Ghareb, Red Sea Governorate.
There, the organization is fostering the Amunet wind park project which is wanted to enter business activity in the 2nd quarter of 2025. The turbines for the wind park will be delivered by Shanghai-based green technology company Envision Energy.
In addition to large-scale wind and solar projects, AMEA Power is planning also the development of a 1-GW green hydrogen project in Suez Governorate for the production and export of green ammonia.
