Damietta Restarts LNG Production and Lifts the First Cargo.

The first LNG cargo from Egypt's Damietta liquefaction plant was successfully developed and lifted, according to Eni. The terminal's first LNG cargo has been developed since it was shut down in 2012.
The event marks a significant step forward in the process of completing the agreement reached on December 1, 2020, aimed at resolving all outstanding conflicts between the parties and resuming plant operations.
The agreement has already obtained all of the required approvals from the relevant authorities, and it is scheduled to be finalised in the first half of March.
The agreement comes at a crucial time, when Egypt has regained full capacity to meet domestic gas demand and can allocate surplus output for export through its LNG plants, thanks to the quick time to market of Eni's natural gas discoveries, especially those in the Zohr and Nooros fields.
