Tullow Oil reported that its oil production outlook for Ghana in 2019 is likely to reach 180,000 bopd.
This forecast is based on the company’s plan to drill and complete seven wells in Ghana’s TEN and Jubilee fields.
In 2018, Jubilee’s gross production averaged 78,000 bopd slightly below the group’s prediction.
So further to this, the company stated that this was due to small operational problems in December, which have now been resolved.
The company also added that in 2019, the average gross oil production from the Jubilee field is expected to grow to around 96,000 bopd.
Whereas, The company noted that the TEN fields performed well throughout 2018, with gross production averaging 64,500 bopd.
In 2019, Tullow expects gross oil production from the TEN fields to rise to around 83,000 bopds.
On the other hand, in East Africa, that is in Kenya, the company stated that it continues to target FID in late 2019 and First Oil in 2022.
The transfer of stored crude oil from Turkana to Mombasa by road continues as part of the Early Oil Pilot Scheme, with an average of eight trucks shipped every two days, transporting around 600 bopd.
And in Uganda, the company partners Total and CNOOC Ltd continue to work with the government of Uganda to decide the farm-down, which is now expected to be completed in the first half of 2019.
In 2018, Tullow obtained new licences in Côte d'Ivoire, Suriname, Comoros and Peru–the latter two are subject to government approval.
In 2019, Tullow will take the responsibility of geophysical surveys in Côte d'Ivoire, Comoros and its on going assets in West Africa.
It also implied that Guyana will be the focus for Tullow’s exploration drilling programme in 2019 and the group will drill the Jethro prospect in the second quarter of 2019 as the first of two organized wells on the Orinduik block.
